The work of James Godbold can be found at www.turnstonegallery.net
''If you can draw it, we can make it'' is James Godbold's dictum and he can produce anything from letter knives to spiral staircases. He has a reputation for high quality wrought iron and steelwork and attracts commissions from all over the country.
After completing his apprenticeship with a Master Blacksmith, James started his own business in 1985. When the business had outgrown his first workshop he moved to his current premises at Forge Garage, Egton. Over twenty years he has developed a small, dedicated team of craftsmen producing a wide range of work.
Although James Godbold enjoys the challenge of larger commissions he still produces smaller pieces of work such as fire irons, boot scrapers, garden furniture and weather vanes. Much of this work is displayed in the gallery and James is always happy to craft any item to an individual specification.
