Margaret Lawrenson

Now that the Turnstone Gallery has permanently closed you can keep up with what Margartet is doing by following the link at the bottom of this page.

“I like to make functional ceramics which can also be appreciated as decorative objects to be used in the home.

The pots are precisely made and have simplicity of line; smoothly curved forms are important, especially for the profiles of jugs and bowls.

I combine wheel-thrown and hand building techniques and my glazes produce subtle variegations of colour, breaking on the texture and scraffito decorations, thus enhancing the form.”

Margaret’s studio is in Swanland, East Yorkshire.
