Michelle believes that the most important aspects of her paintings are the light and atmosphere and she works on site to achieve this. She hopes that viewers share this sense of place with her and wish to experience it for themselves.

Michelle has been painting professionally for the past twelve years. Her work is mainly in oils and her subjects usually marine and coastal. The coastal paths and cliffs between Sandsend and Staithes are amongst her favourite subjects and where she draws most of her inspiration.

Michelle's reputation has increased in recent years, following several successful exhibitions, including Changing Tides at the Turnstone Gallery and Personal Inspirations, a joint exhibition held at the Pannett Gallery, Whitby. Exhibitions have also been held at Scarborough Art Gallery, Ferens Gallery Hull, Parker Gallery Harrogate and she is a regular exhibitor with the Royal Society of Marine Artists, at the Mall Galleries London.

She has held demonstrations for Whitby Art Society and her work is now held in private collections in this country and abroad. Michelle's studio-gallery is in Lythe.
