own art scheme is available on any sale over £100.
Following her graduation from Bath with a degree in fine art, Tilla's first meaningful contact with clay started with pottery evening classes in 1989. After fifteen years, and countless evening classes, she realised that she wanted to do more and found herself chatting to Rupert Spira about the possibility of becoming his apprentice.
Tilla trained with Rupert for two years and during that time met James who had arrived also to learn about pottery. Their apprenticeships gave them a narrow but deep training, "a foundation from which we continue to find our personal, collective voice."
In 2002 they started making pots in their own workshop. Their collaboration has evolved so that now only James throws but Tilla is much involved in the making process and is wholly responsible for the decoration. "Working together is easy as we trained together and our strengths tend to complement each other."
In 2006 they were delighted to be selected for several prestigious events including Made in the Middle (Craftspace) and Origin (Crafts Council).
